• Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while.

Curriculum Vitae: download

A budding software developer living and working in Liverpool, UK. I come from a small village in the south of Wales. I resided here until I moved on, at 18, to study at University of Bath, UK. It has taken me a while to get to this place (having previously chosen to study Architecture) but I am more than happy to say I have finally found a home in Software Engineering. I have a passion for cutting-edge technology, design, business and mathematics, so an industry that is a compilation of all four is proving to be a perfect fit for me.

I have many interests, many strengths and skills that allow me to be highly adaptive to various roles. I’m a strong programmer and designer, but equally as strong a business and marketing mind. I have a sound eye for promising business opportunities and I’m not afraid to give my honest opinion on those ideas that I believe to be a dead end. I regularly have several exciting projects on the go at once and hate not having anything to get stuck into.

I am driven by a desire to gain valuable experience on challenging projects and hope to one day have my own business (or several :p). I offer a meticulous attention to detail with a keen eye for design to help mold innovative ideas. I'm constantly striving to contribute positively to any working situation and thrive on the prospect of new challenges.

Current Work.

Whilst continuously working on many development projects in a wide range of technologies, I'm also working as a software developer for Your Sales Team Cloud. A fresh, and exciting marketing company in Liverpool, UK.

I'm always looking to expand my portfolio and get stuck into new developments so if you would like to discuss me doing some design/development work for you drop me a message below :). Seriously...there is no project too small!

On that note, if you would like to bounce some ideas about, and maybe discuss working on an exciting startup project together I'll be more than happy to do this (if there is potential that is :p). Like I mentioned, just contact me below and I'll get in touch!

Technical Skills.

Java, PHP, Ruby on Rails, JQuery, JavaScript (inc frameworks Backbone.js, and Ember.js), Interface design, Technical drawing, Smarty, Adobe Packages and AutoCAD. I also have (some) experience with the following programming languages: Perl, and Objective C. I have experience using MVC frameworks and Agile programming methods.

Most importantly, I write quality, clean, well-structured code!

Looking to the future.

I'm all about setting goals. Probably the highest goal I have set myself is to be running my own (successful?) company by the time I reach the grand age of 30. Not long, eh? Not knowing how I'll get there though is the exhilerating part...in keeping with the fact that I'm basically a walking contradiction, I'm completley open and adaptive to change. I believe with incredibly hard work, sacrifices, and taking the right opportunities as they arise I WILL reach that goal!

Honours and Awards.

1st class Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from University of Liverpool.

Awarded a EPSRC scholarship for a research internship. (Summer 2012)

Axios Systems 'A Star' award - awarded to best performing female Computing students at A Level. Sponsored by Microsoft, IBM, Accenture, Deutsche Bank and EDS. (2006)

IT prize and Art & Design prize, Rhymney Comprehensive School. (2006)

I'm a self confessed shoe addict with a passion for Manchester United, the arts, music concerts, Castle, health and fitness, and strong coffees.

  • Whenever I have an idea I write it down, even if it’s not a very good idea. Sometimes the bad ideas will lead to better ones.
